Release Notes — First Quarter 2025

Welcome to the latest Driblab release notes!

Over the past few months, we’ve focused on turning valuable client feedback into meaningful improvements across the platform. This release includes major upgrades to scouting workflows, template management, video analysis, administration tools, and much more. Whether you’re managing scouting reports, uploading footage, or analyzing squad value, these updates are designed to make your work more efficient, customizable, and impactful.

Let’s explore what’s new.

Scouting & Player Search

Filter Scouting Analyses by Player Position

Scouting analyses can now be filtered by player position. Both primary and secondary roles are displayed next to each player's name, helping you more efficiently target profiles that match your tactical needs.

Template Management Improvements

We’ve introduced a dedicated Templates page in the left-side panel, allowing quick access to all your saved templates. Additionally, templates can now be created using a simplified dialog interface directly from relevant sections of the platform.

User-Level Default Templates

Radar and season templates can now be set individually by each user. This replaces the previous system, where a shared default applied to all users within a client account, allowing for a more personalized workflow.

Player Insights: Adjustable Player Display

Users can now choose to display 5, 10, or 20 players in the Player Insights section, offering more flexibility when comparing performances across groups.

Toggle Between Full and Abbreviated Stat Names

In Player Scout, you can now switch between full stat names and abbreviations, depending on your preference and workflow.

New Metrics in Player Scout

Two new variables have been added to Player Scout:

  • xAssistsOpenPlayInTeam
  • xAssistsSetPieceInTeam

These additions provide a more complete view of creative contributions in different phases of play.

Match & Player Performance Analysis

Penalty Shootout Map at Game Level

For matches that include a penalty shootout, a new map is now available to visualize each shot in sequence at the game level.

Finishing Map Enhancements: Penalties & Shootouts

The Finishing Map now features two separate filters for in-game penalties and shootouts, available across match, team, and player views. This gives users more control over shot-type breakdowns and comparative analysis.

Goals Conceded Breakdown

The detailed breakdown previously available for goals scored is now also available for goals conceded, providing a fuller picture of team performance.

Physical Data Score Visibility Improvements

The Physical Data Score is now shown only for players with at least 65 minutes played, ensuring greater data reliability. This metric is available to all users with access to physical data.

Table of All Shots in Finishing Map

A new feature within the Finishing Map allows users to access a comprehensive table of all shots from a given match, helping teams analyze actions on a shot-by-shot basis.

Video & Match Footage

Improved Video Sharing Links

Shared video links now open directly to the selected segment, whether a full match, a half, or a recap, making it easier for recipients to jump to the relevant moment.

Highlights Navigation and Display Enhancements

  • Users can now activate multiple shortcut filters at once.
  • Clicking an active shortcut will now toggle it off.
  • Action labels now display team aliases instead of full team names, improving visual clarity.

Expanded Highlights in Team & Player Pages

All video-highlighted actions are now accessible directly from team and player detail pages, giving users a clearer and more contextualized view of performances.

New Video Format Options in Game View

Within the Game Detail view, users can now switch between multiple video formats, including:

  • Full Recap
  • Home Team Condensed
  • Away Team Condensed

These formats provide greater flexibility when reviewing match footage.

General Platform Improvements

League Tab Redesign

The League Tab and its corresponding matchday subpages have been visually refreshed to improve usability and navigation. The redesign introduces a cleaner layout and a more consistent experience across views.
